Two Hour Delay, At The Ridge

Strong Vocals And Amazing Musicians: Two Hour Delay at The Ridge, Friday 9/15/17

Two Hour Delay, fronted by guitarist and lead singer Tim Burns delivers soulful Americana jamming and gorgeous harmonies. It may seem odd to attach the word “gorgeous” to a group of 5 gentlemen (Burns, Joe Henson, guitar & vocals; Bob Gaus, Telecaster; Eric Wise, bass & vocals; and Brian Welch, drums & vocals) but once you hear them, you will understand why.

Driven by strong originals (” Tell U Ride,” “Angry Woman,” “Miss You When I’m Gone,” and “She’s A Flower”) and deftly delivered covers (The Drive-By Truckers’ “My Sweet Annette,” Bob Weir’s “Only A River,” and The Grateful Dead’s “Mr. Charlie”) the band delivers top-notch, crowd-pleasing variety.

Two Hour Delay is a delight to watch and listen to. Each member has his turn in the spotlight, with lead vocals occasionally going to Henson or Wise. Harmonies are plentiful! Brian Welch, in addition to contributing harmonizing vocals, lays down a solid rhythmic underpinning. Bob Gaus’s eclectic guitar style weaves together everything from country to jazz to rock. Joe Henson adds depth and variety to the songwriting mix, as well tasteful but understated guitar riffs.

The Ridge Tavern’s cozy interior instantly makes you feel at home and relaxed. With free live music every Wednesday and Friday night, there is always an excuse to swing by this “hidden” gem (1281 Salt Springs Road
Chittenango, NY 13037) This coming Tuesday 9/19 features a special musical event: The Bruce Springsteen Tribute (covered by many local musicians) and the following Tuesday, 9/26, is The Pink Floyd Tribute featuring Radio Floyd. The special tribute nights will take place on the outdoor stage and will cost $15 at the door, or $11.11 ahead of time!
