I’d Like An Organic Burger And A View Of The Horses While I Enjoy The Band

Sure, there is place within 20 minutes of downtown Syracuse where you can enjoy a local beer or cider, a grass-fed organic beef burger, and a home grown band, all while enjoying a view of horses. That place is Greyrock Farms on East Lake Rd. in Cazenovia. (It is actually very close to Chittenango)
On a recent Saturday, Blake Propst, Brian Welch, Mike Gridley, Tim Burns, and – later in the evening – special guest Bob Gaus put on a show for a hungry crowd of young and old fans. This is about as close to an acoustic Syracuse super-group we’ve seen in awhile. These gentlemen hail from bands as diverse as Boots ‘n Shorts, The Bog Brothers, Pearly Baker’s Best, Two-Hour Delay, and many other local acts over the decades.
We were treated to many of Tim Burns’s originals: “Tell Your Ride,” “Free Joe,” “Angry Woman” as well as a Mike Gridley original: “Nowhere To Fall.” The band mixed in covers by The Grateful Dead, Neil Young, The Rolling Stones, Drive-By Truckers, and others.
Check this place out on Saturday September 16 from 5 to 9 PM when Tim Burns and Syracuse Lax legend Mike Powell perform!
